The short but comprehensive menu here changes weekly, and is written on a chalkboard next to the tiny men’s room; there’s a huge swordfish mounted on the wall; the music veers from old-school country to alternapop; and the owners live upstairs. Peter’s Inn has been one of Baltimore’s [2] favorite restaurants for years because it pairs inventive cooking and fresh ingredients with an unpretentious, eclectic bar scene and a petite dining room (there’s also outdoor seating).
There are always steak, fish, and vegetarian-friendly options, and don’t skip the legendary garlic bread. Weekend crowds and no reservations can mean a wait at the bar, but then again, it’s a really great bar (and it’s open until 1 a.m.).
