The Phillips name is synonymous with crabs in Maryland; from a single crab house on the shore, the family has built what is today a veritable mini-empire on the backs of the Chesapeake Bay’s delicious crustaceans. They’ve got a prime location in the Light Street Pavilion in Harborplace [2], with lots of window tables overlooking the harbor, as well as plentiful outdoor seating during the warmer months.
The friendly servers will help explain how to eat crabs, if you’re a neophyte, but there are plenty of more conventional seafood (and meat, and even vegetarian) options on the menu. This is a big, high-volume place, designed to accommodate lots of tourists, but calling ahead for reservations is strongly encouraged.
