Peshastin Pinnacles State Park

Eight miles east of Leavenworth [1] on Highway 2 is Peshastin Pinnacles State Park, where a series of sandstone spires jut out of an arid hillside, making for a rock-climbing mecca across 35 acres. Climbing difficulty generally ranges from 5.6 to 5.11, with many routes bolted.

This is a great spot for beginners still learning how to lead climb with the use of bolts (sport climb). Several spots make for good bouldering (for example, the outcrop just to the right of the gate). One great bonus of climbing at Peshastin is that the weather, and hence the rock, is often dry because of its location on the east side of the mountains.

Nonclimbers can stop to photograph the dramatic pinnacles, walk the short trails, or watch more daring folks. There is no camping here.
