For an impressive, low-elevation viewpoint of the Cascades and Skagit Valley [1], visit Cap Sante Park on Anacortes’s [2] east side, following 4th Street to West Avenue. Scramble up the boulders for a better look at Mt. Baker [3], the San Juans [4], and the Anacortes refineries that turn Alaskan oil into gasoline.
Not far away, a short trail leads to Rotary Park next to Cap Sante Marina, where you'll find picnic tables overlooking the busy harbor.
