In addition to the four major professional teams—the Eagles [1], the Phillies [2], the Flyers [3], and the 76ers [4]—the city has several minor league teams that play entertaining if somewhat less heated games at lower prices.

The area is also home to an unparalleled five college basketball teams, in the Big 5: Temple, University of Pennsylvania, St. Joe’s, Villanova, and LaSalle. Penn’s arena, the Palestra, has a storied history, and while somewhat run-down, it remains a favorite place for b-ball enthusiasts to watch a game.
