One of the most prestigious music conservatories in the world occupies a prestigious spot in the heart of Rittenhouse Square [2]. While its foremost goal is teaching gifted students classical music, its founder has always believed in the philosophy of learning by doing.
Lucky for us, the institute offers more than 100 public performances a year, including orchestra, operas, and solo and chamber music recitals. While some performances are held at other nearby theaters, others are held on-site at Field Concert Hall.
Prices vary greatly, and many student recitals or practices are free to the public. They are generally held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8 p.m., but call the student hotline at 215/893-5261 to double check.
