The Fabric Workshop and Museum is the only museum of its kind in the country, and is a must for those interested in creating art using fabric. It sets out to support the development of “new work in new materials.”
The museum and shop is a successful collaboration between both emerging and famous artists experimenting with unfamiliar mediums—often, but not solely, fabric. Founded in 1977, the museum displays permanent and rotating exhibits.
Located in a former industrial building near the convention center, it contains three exhibition galleries, a video lounge, a shop, and artist studios.
