The majority of restaurants in Northwest Philadelphia are located on or near Germantown Avenue in Chestnut Hill or Main Street in Manayunk—both bustling business strips in otherwise residential neighborhoods.
Both areas have excellent cafés, gourmet markets, and a variety of restaurants, including a few standouts.
Chestnut Hill is also home to a farmers market that is open Thursday–Saturday. Germantown Avenue in Mt. Airy, just down the hill from Chestnut Hill near the intersection of Mt. Pleasant Avenue, also has a few neighborhood gems.
