There is something indescribably cozy about drinking your morning coffee from a metal mug. The home-cooked meals have a flair that makes them more upscale than your average greasy-spoon diner, but still a little grittier than its nearby famous counterpart, Sabrina’s [2], around the corner.
Brunch is the house specialty here, too, and it’s all made with plenty of fresh, local ingredients. Check your diet at the door and sink your teeth into the amazingly warm and oozy chocolate cherry bread dusted with confectioners’ sugar, the gigantic breakfast burrito, or one of the frittatas.
The wait for weekend brunch can be brutal, so go early and enjoy the strong, free coffee while you wait. Oh, and the only other negative is the homemade ketchup; it simply does not compare to good old Heinz in my opinion.
