You’ll find big flavors in small portions in this stylish eight-table corner restaurant just off Rittenhouse Square [2]. In the colder months, an inviting fireplace against the back wall beckons diners to enter the draped entrance. In the warmer months, it’s a popular spot for outdoor dining.
Talented chef Jonathan McDonald creates delightful dishes out of unexpected ingredients, like brussels sprouts with truffles and marcona almonds or caramel apples encrusted with miso and wasabi peas. Have one as a true snack or a light lunch, but if you go in for a meal, you’ll need to order about three per person.
A selective wine, beer, and cheese list and several divine desserts round out the diverse offerings. The small bar is a nice place to stop for a good, but not cheap at $8–14, glass of wine. Food served until 1 a.m. and bar open until 2 a.m.
