A relative newcomer to Philadelphia’s [1] vibrant BYOB [2] scene, Pumpkin’s orange-accented storefront exterior and small—some might say cramped—interior do not do justice to the work of its kitchen.
The revolving menu features seasonal, mostly local ingredients. Scallops make frequent appearances on the appetizer list, and are a great starter. In fact, seafood in general is a smart choice.
The husband-and-wife owners (he is the chef, she runs the front of the house) accept cash only, and reservations are recommended, so plan ahead.
