The only truly “fine-dining” Chinese restaurant in the city is also one of the city’s most well-regarded restaurants overall. Nationally acclaimed chef-owner Susanna Foo has received much attention for her spectacular upscale cuisine (and also for her arrest for a questionable run-in/assault on a parking attendant).
The dining room is elegant, with its high ceilings, white tablecloths, and subtle ethnic touches like silk lanterns.
A sampler plate of four appetizers is an excellent starter, followed by tea-smoked Peking duck breast or seared diver scallops with emulsified truffle sauce. But really, everything on the menu is divine, and at these prices, it better be.
Tasty specialty cocktails and the wine list are excellent but will run your check through the roof if you’re not careful.
