North from Ohanapecosh [1], Highway 123 follows the Ohanapecosh River and Chinook Creek upstream, reaching 4,694 feet at Cayuse Pass, 11 miles from the Stevens Canyon entrance station. Here the road meets Highway 410, which continues north past the White River entrance and east over Chinook Pass [2], where Tipsoo Lake creates a picture-postcard image.
Yakima [3] is another 64 miles to the east.
