Snoqualmie Area

When most Washington residents hear “Snoqualmie,” they think first of Snoqualmie Pass and its ski areas [1], then Snoqualmie Falls [2], which looked so ominous in the credits of the 1990 TV show Twin Peaks. The small town of Snoqualmie [3] is usually an afterthought, unless you live there or have come to appreciate the great restaurants and beautiful scenery of the area.

Snoqualmie Pass is the easiest way through the Cascades in winter: It has both the widest highway (I-5) and lowest elevation of any of the mountain passes. The ski areas at the summit bring a lot of vehicular traffic through the region.
