About halfway between Skykomish [1] and Lake Wenatchee is Stevens Pass Ski Area (206/812-4510, 206/634-1645 for snow conditions, www.stevenspass.com [2], $57 adult, $35 kids and seniors, $12 over age 70, $7 under age 6) one of the most popular Alpine ski areas with Seattleites. With a base elevation of 3,821 feet and a summit elevation of 5,845 feet, it features 10 lifts that cover 1,125 acres of beginner through expert terrain.<
Stevens Pass is generally open mid-November through late April, offering night skiing, ski and snowboard rentals and lessons, a ski shop, restaurant, cafeteria, and cocktail lounges. Many different ski and snowboard schools operate out of Stevens Pass; contact the ski area for a listing. A tubing and sledding area is adjacent to the ski hill.
Lodging is not available at Stevens Pass [3], although RVs can park in the lot (no hookups). The nearest overnight accommodations are in Skykomish [1] (16 miles west) and Leavenworth [4] (35 miles east).
