Celebrated the first week in July, the highlight of Founder’s Days is the Stillman Miller Hill Climb, inspired by an early resident who claimed he could pour himself a beer in the local tavern, run up Numbers Hill, and be back before the head settled. Whether or not he actually made it is anybody’s guess, but the concept was so appealing that runners are still trying it today. Other events include a parade, barbecue, arts and crafts show, and street dance.
Cashmere [1] is also home to the Chelan County Fair, held the second week in September, highlighted by rodeos, musical entertainment, a carnival, and exhibits.
The first weekend in October brings Cashmere Apple Days, featuring apple-bin races, an apple pie–baking contest, music, dancing, and staged shootouts.
