In addition to the restaurants and markets, Chelan [1] and Manson have a number of interesting specialty shops. The Harvest Tree (109 E. Woodin Ave., 509/682-3618) offers gift baskets of apples, some with additional foods such as trail mix, Aplets, Cotlets, and honey.
Three local galleries are well worth a visit: Allisons of Manson (71 Wapato Way, Manson, 509/687-3534, www.allisonsofmanson.com [2]), Sunburst Gallery (215 E. Woodin Ave., Chelan, 509/682-8708), and Wapato Studio and Fine Art (108 E. Woodin Ave., Chelan, 509/682-2423). The last of these has works by the famed sculptor Rich Beyer and oils by Rod Weagant.
Out in the orchards near Manson sits Bee’s Antiques, with a huge warehouse filled with beautifully restored (and pricey) antiques. It’s one of the best-known antique stores in Washington but doesn’t advertise and has an unlisted phone; ask in town for directions.
