Golfers will enjoy playing at three local courses. The par-69 Three Lakes Golf Club (W. Malaga Rd. off the Wenatchee-Malaga Hwy., 509/663-5448) offers views of the river and mountains. Peak greens fees are $43, which includes cart rental.

The Jack Frei–designed Desert Canyon Golf Resort (1201 Desert Canyon Boulevard, 800/258-4173, www.desertcanyon.com [1]), north of E. Wenatchee [2] in nearby Orondo, opened in 1993 and provides a full restaurant, a sports bar, and an outdoor snack shop. Greens fees are $89 in summer, $69 in spring and fall.

Rock Island Golf Course (509/884-2806, $22) is a nine-hole, par-36 course in Rock Island that’s perfect for a quick morning outing.
