For valley accommodations, Best Western Lincoln Inn (515 S. Elm St., Toppenish, 509/865-7444 or 800/222-3161, www.bestwestern.com [1], $80s or $90 d) is the best choice in Toppenish [2], with its indoor pool, hot tub, exercise room, fridges, microwaves, and continental breakfast.
Farther east, Sunnyside Inn B&B (804 E. Edison, Sunnyside, 509/221-4195 or 800/221-4195, www.sunnysideinn.com [3], $89–99 d) is situated in the 1919 Fordyce house and has thirteen spacious rooms with private baths, eight of which feature whirlpool tubs. A hearty country breakfast is served, and kids are accepted.
Also in Sunnyside, Country Inn and Suites (408 Yakima Valley Hwy., Sunnyside, 509/837-7878 or 800/578-7878, $55 s or $66 d) has a heated outdoor pool, hot tub, and continental breakfast.
When you drive into Prosser [4], you can’t miss The Barn Motor Inn (490 Wine Country Rd., 509/786-2121, $50 s or $55 d). Just like the name tells you, this motel is fashioned like a big red country barn. Rates are pretty good for the level of cleanliness and comfort offered by the rooms here. There’s a pool and a restaurant on-site. You can also park RVs in the trailer facility around back ($17.50).
