No camping or overnight lodging is available at Hurricane Ridge [1], but several options are nearby. Heart O’ the Hills Campground (five miles south of Port Angeles on Hurricane Ridge Rd., $12) has year-round camping, with campfire programs are offered July through Labor Day.
Located at an elevation of 5,400 feet, Deer Park Campground ($8, mid-June to late September) sits at the end of a narrow 18-mile gravel road on the eastern edge of the park. No RVs are permitted, and it is not accessible from the Hurricane Ridge [1] area.
Near the airport, Lincoln Park’s (W. Lauridsen Blvd. and Bean Rd.) authentic pioneer cabins and a longhouse accompany tennis courts, baseball diamond, campsites ($8 tent and RV, no hookups), nature trails, picnic area, and children’s fishing pond at this 144-acre park. Campers can use the showers at the local swimming pool (225 E. 5th St.) or the boat harbor.
RV owners hoping to catch a ferry to Victoria may find Peabody Creek RV Park (127 S. Lincoln, 360/457-7092 or 800/392-2361, $27 with full hookups) convenient. This very basic park isn’t much more than a parking lot with utilities, but it is right next to the docks.
For a few more amenities, try Conestoga Quarters RV Park (40 Sieberts Creek Rd., 360/452-4637 or 800/808-4637, $25 with full hookups), which—in spite of cramped spaces—offers an off-leash area for dogs, showers, laundry facilities, free Wi-Fi, and a clubhouse.
Also in town, Crescent Beach RV (2860 Crescent Beach Rd., 360/928-3344 or 866/690-3344, $40 with full hookups) is another pet-friendly private campground that offers access to a long, sandy beach, along with coin-op showers and laundry, plus a convenience store.
