The Port Angeles Fine Arts Center (1203 E. Lauridsen Blvd., 360/417-4590, www.pafac.org [1], 11 a.m.–5 p.m. Thurs.–Sun., free) is a bit out of the way, but well worth the side trip. Located on a hill, the building’s enormous picture windows face north to Vancouver Island, offering panoramic vistas that pull your eyes away from the art on the walls.
Walk outside to discover a small forest with gardens and a path leading to additional viewpoints. The Fine Arts Center features changing exhibits by prominent Northwest artists.
