The Rothschild House (Franklin and Taylor St., 11 a.m.–4 p.m. daily Apr.–Oct., 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Sat.–Sun. Nov., closed Dec.–Mar., $4 adults, $1 children 3–12) was built in 1868 by D. C. H. Rothschild, a Port Townsend [1] merchant and a distant relative of Germany’s famous Rothschild banking family. This restrained Victorian still has much of the original furniture, wallpaper, and carpeting, and it is surrounded by herb and flower gardens.
