The Orcas Island Country Golf Club (Orcas Rd. southwest of Eastsound, 360/376-4400, www.orcasisland.com/golf [2]) is a nine-hole public course.
Gnat’s Nature Hikes (360/376-6629) guides hikes within Moran State Park [3] or to one of the outer island marine parks; these start at $25 per person for a 3.5-hour hike. Tortas and Hare Excursions (360/376-2464) offers historic tours of Orcas Island [4].
Orcas Athletics (100 A St., Eastsound, 360/376-6361, www.bellacorporate.com [5]) is a full athletic club with racquetball court, swimming pool, saunas, hot tub, and more. Nonmembers can work out here for a $15 fee.
The Seattle YMCA’s Camp Orkila (206/382-5001, www.seattleymca.org [6]) has an excellent day camp all summer long for school-age children.
