San Juan Vineyards (360/378-9463 or 888/983-9463, www.sanjuanvineyards.com ) is housed in a century-old schoolhouse three miles out Roche Harbor Road. It produces a limited bottling of wines from the vineyard here, but most of its wine comes from eastern Washington grapes. Stop by for wine-tasting noon–6 p.m. daily.
There are no vineyards at The Island Wine Company (next to the ferry dock in Friday Harbor, 360/378-3229 or 800/248-9463, www.sanjuancellars.com , 10 a.m.–6 p.m. daily), but you can sample wines made from eastern Washington grapes and bottled under its San Juan Cellars label.
