Depot Arts Center (7th St. and R Ave., 360/293-3663) houses a gallery that showcases local artists. It’s adjacent to the historic W. T. Preston [1] ship. Anacortes [2] also has a number of forgettable downtown galleries.
The Anacortes Community Theatre (10th St. and M Ave., 360/293-6829) stages plays and musicals, plus annual Christmas performances.
The Vela Luka Croatian Dancers (www.velaluka.org [3]) is a local group that performs all over the world. This is the most obvious example of Anacortes [2]' strong Croatian community; it’s claimed that a quarter of local residents are of Croatian descent.
