The simple grave of James M. "Jimi" Hendrix can be found in Greenwood Memorial Park, located east of town on N.E. 3rd at Monroe [1]. Find the ground-level grave marker by heading toward the sundial and then turning right. Born in Seattle [2] in 1942, Hendrix died in 1970 from a drug-related suffocation. Hundreds of people of all ages still make the pilgrimage to his grave each year, leaving behind tokens of all sorts, from flowers to pinwheels.
Be sure to stop by the office near the cemetery entrance to sign the guest book and read comments from visitors who arrive from around the globe. Seattle’s [2] Experience Music Project [3] has much more on this rock legend.
