Olympia’s [1] Washington Center for the Performing Arts (512 Washington St. SE, 360/753-8586, www.washingtoncenter.org [2]) is a state-of-the-art facility with hundreds of activities throughout the year—from ballet to rock concerts. Both the Olympia Symphony Orchestra (360/753-0074, www.olympiasymphony.com [3]) and the Masterworks Choral Ensemble (360/491-3305, www.mce.org [4]) perform here.
Capitol Playhouse ’24 (360/754-5378, www.capitalplayhouse.com [5]), located in the historic Capitol Theatre (206 E. 5th Ave.), produces plays from December to May as well as a summer Shakespeare Festival consisting of three plays performed June–August. The Capitol Theater also hosts a film festival in November.
Olympia Little Theater (1925 Miller Ave. NE, 360/786-9484, www.olympialittletheater.org [6]) is the place for light comedies.
