In addition to state and federal publications, the State Library, on the south side of the Capitol, houses a collection of murals, mosaics, paintings, and sculpture by Northwest artists. It’s a nice place to sit inside on a rainy day (a common occurrence in Olympia).
The Temple of Justice (8 a.m.–5 p.m. Mon.–Fri.) is not a sequel to Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, though it may mean doom for certain individuals. Instead, this is where the State Supreme Court meets. It is open year-round for self-guided tours. Also inside is the Washington State Law Library.
