The closest public campsites ($14 for tents, $20 for RVs) are seven miles south of Bellingham [1] at Larrabee State Park [2] (360/676-2093), with a boat launch and sandy beach. Additional camping can be found 14 miles north in Birch Bay State Park [3] (5105 Helwig Rd., 360/371-2800), with year-round tent sites ($14) and RV hookups ($20) in the trees. Private RV parks include Sudden Valley Resort on Lake Whatcom (2145 Lake Whatcom Blvd., 360/734-6430); and Bellingham RV Park (3939 Bennett Dr., 360/752-1224 or 888/372-1224).
