The attractive downtown in the charming town of Snohomish has a classic small-town feel and a real sense of the past. Settled in 1859 along the banks of the Snohomish and Pilchuck Rivers, Snohomish maintains a collection of eclectic historic homes and brick commercial buildings that host some of the best antique shops in the state.
At the heart of it all is the Blackman Historic Museum (118 Ave. B, 360/568-5235, noon–4 p.m. Fri.–Sun. summers only, $2 adults, $1 seniors or children), an 1878 mansion built by a lumberman as a proud display of his cedar shingles. Today it’s filled with area artifacts and Victorian furniture.
