Anyone with a morbid fascination for graveyards, or a love of baroque architecture, might find Cienfuegos [1]’s evocative Cementerio La Reina (Avenida 50 y Calle 7, 7 a.m.–7 p.m., free) appealing. The walls contain tombs of soldiers from the War of Independence.
Many tombs are caved in, with the skeletons open to view. It was being restored at last visit. Take Avenida 48 west, then turn right.
