East Tennessee’s Girl Scout Council operates the Girl Scout Museum at Daisy’s Place (1567 Downtown West Blvd., 865/688-9440, www.tanasi.org [1], Aug.–May Mon. 8:30 a.m.–7:30 p.m., Tues.–Fri. 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m., Sat. 9 a.m.–1 p.m., June–July Mon.–Thurs. 8 a.m.–5:30 p.m., Sat. 9 a.m.–1 p.m., free).
The museum, one of six such girl scout museums in the United States, features exhibits about the history of girl scouting, Girl Scout cookies, and scouting in East Tennessee. You can see handbooks, songbooks, uniforms, and scrapbooks dating back to 1912.
