Most everything about Demos’ Steak and Spaghetti House (300 Commerce St., 615/256-4655, daily 11 a.m.–11 p.m., $6–15) is upscale except the price. Just as the name suggests, Demos’ specializes in steaks and spaghetti, and it has earned a reputation among Nashville [1] residents for quality food and good value. Choose from hamburger steak, rib eye, or sirloin, or try one of the 12 different spaghetti dinners, including seafood sauce and browned butter with garlic. The portions are more than generous, pleasing to the biggest appetites. The original Demos’ is in Murfreesboro, and there are other locations in Lebanon and Hendersonville.
