Nashville’s [1] second hostel is located a half-hour drive south of the city in Brentwood. Country Hostel Nashville (9900 Maxwell Ln., 615/578-7207, www.countryhostelnashville.com [2], $22) is indeed semi-rural, and guests can enjoy bike riding (the hostel rents bikes) or sitting out on the comfortable deck. The hostel has free wireless Internet, a barbecue, and a spacious kitchen. It is non-smoking inside and air-conditioned in summer. Accommodations are divided into male and female dorm-style rooms with bunk beds and clean sheets. Towels and linens are provided, and the hostel will pick you up from the airport or bus station for an additional fee.
This hostel is also convenient to attractions in Franklin, Tennessee, and close to malls, shopping, and dining. You need a car to explore any of these areas, however.
