Some Nashville [1] residents look down their nose at Opry Mills (433 Opry Mills Dr., 615/514-1000), the discount mall in Music Valley that sits across the street from the Grand Ole Opry [2]. Indeed, if upscale shopping is your thing, don’t come here. But if good deals on name-brand merchandise appeal to you, Opry Mills is the mall for you. Brands include Corning, Levi’s, Banana Republic, American Eagle Outfitters, Barnes & Noble, Gap, and Off Fifth. There is also a 20-screen movie theater, IMAX, and Bass Pro Shop with all sorts of outdoor equipment.

A bit farther down the highway in Lebanon, about 30 miles east of Nashville [1] on I-40, Prime Outlets (800/617-2588) features name-brand outlet stores. Brands include Polo Ralph Lauren, Coach, Tommy Hilfiger, and Ann Taylor. To get to Prime Outlets, take I-40 east from Nashville and get off at exit 238.
