The Memphis Farmer’s Market (901/575-0580, www.memphisfarmersmarket.com [1], May–Oct. Sat. 7 a.m.–1 p.m.) takes place in the pavilion opposite Central Station in the South Main part of town.
The only downtown grocery store is the Easy-Way (80 N. Main St., 901/523-1323, daily 7 a.m.–6 p.m.) on the corner of Main Street and Jefferson Avenue. For liquor and wine, go to The Corkscrew (511 S. Front St., 901/543-9463).
The closest gourmet grocery is located in Harbor Town, the residential community on Mud Island [2], where Miss Cordelia’s (737 Harbor Bend, 901/526-4772, daily 7 a.m.–9 p.m.) sells fresh produce, bakery goods, and staples. A deli in the back serves soups, salads, sandwiches, and a wide variety of prepared foods.
For a full-service grocery store in midtown, look for the Krogers at the corner of Cleveland and Poplar.
