The Fire Museum of Memphis (118 Adams Ave., 901/320-5650, www.firemuseum.com [1], Mon.–Sat. 9 a.m.–5 p.m., adults $6, seniors $4, children $5) is a good place to take children. There is a huge display of fire-engine toys, lots of firefighting paraphernalia, and a “fire room” that presents important lessons on fire safety.
You can also see old-fashioned fire engines and youngsters will enjoy playing in the kid-friendly fire truck. The museum is located in the old Fire Station No. 1 in downtown Memphis [2].
