MetraPark (near the corner of 6th Ave. N. and Exhibition Dr., 406/256-2400, www.metrapark.com [1]) is the major venue in Billings [2] for concerts, rodeos, fairs, and just about any other event that requires extensive seating and exhibition space.

Seasonal events include the MontanaFair, a large agricultural affair with a rodeo, carnival, and horse racing held during the middle of August. The Northern International Livestock Exposition is a large and prestigious livestock show held in October and featuring five nights of rodeo. Check the website for concert dates or sports engagements.

Live theater is presented in several venues. The Alberta Bair Theatre (2801 3rd Ave. N., 406/256-6052) hosts performance events, including theater by the Fox Committee for the Performing Arts, the Billings Symphony, and events featuring visiting artists.

Venture Theater (2317 Montana Ave, 406/591-9535) is an ambitious acting troupe with a large theater space at the heart of Montana Avenue’s nightlife scene. The group mounts musicals, dramas, and comedies and also offers improv evenings several times each month.

Billings Studio Theatre (1500 Rimrock Rd., 406/248-1141) is a local community theater featuring old and new favorites of the popular stage.
