Madison Meadows (406/682-7468) is a public nine-hole golf course just west of town.
Many old logging roads in the hills south of Ennis [1] are closed to motorized traffic and make good mountain-bike routes. Get the current road-closure information at the Ennis Ranger Station.
The Gravellys are popular with elk hunters, but the recent road building and logging have threatened elk habitat, partly because the logging roads have brought more hunters to previously remote areas.
September brings upland game-bird hunters to the area for Hungarian partridge and sharptail, blue, and ruffled grouse.
