The Myrna Loy Center for the Performing Arts (15 N. Ewing St., 406/442-0287, www.myrnaloycenter.com [1]), named for the late film actress who hailed from the Helena [2] area, is housed in the revamped 1880s jail. A performance space, gallery, and art-film theater combine to make this a jewel in Helena’s cultural crown.
The Grandstreet Theatre (325 N. Park Ave., 406/447-1574) is Helena’s community theater. Grandstreet works closely with drama students from Carroll College [3] and conducts a theater school for young people.
