The wind-tossed Townsite Campground (late Apr.–mid-Oct., C$21.50–35.30) is of the parking-lot variety, but many of the 238 sites are close to the lake, and there are showers. It’s immediately south of downtown, near the Bertha Lake trailhead and the Falls Theatre on Windflower Drive. Reservations (877/737-3783, www.pccamping.ca [1]) are available for the Townsite Campground.
Belly River Campground (mid-May–mid-Sept., C$14.70) is a cheaper, but not necessarily more appealing, alternative off Chief Mountain International Highway just north of the international border. It’s away from the lakes and can be hot.
The Crandell Mountain Campground (mid-May–early Sept., C$20.60) is a pleasant, though sometimes crowded, spot five miles from town on the Red Rock Canyon Parkway.
