Cameron Falls drops from a hanging valley, where a small glacier came in from the side and was swallowed up by the large Waterton Valley glacier.
A paddle-wheeled boat submerged in Emerald Bay beneath the Prince of Wales Hotel can be seen through the clear water. It holds a particular fascination for divers.
Take the nine-mile-long Red Rock Canyon Parkway from town to the canyon. At road’s end there’s a short self-guided walk around the canyon and a picnic area; it’s a 20-minute amble to Blakiston Falls.
A bison paddock north of the park entrance corrals a small herd of buffalo. There’s a quite pretty driving tour through the paddock, which is more interesting than it sounds.
