Serrano’s Mexican Restaurant (29 Dawson Ave., 406/226-9392, 5–10 p.m. nightly mid-May–Sept., less than $15) has good Mexican food and margaritas that taste extraspecial after a long hike.
The Glacier Village Restaurant and Villager Dining Room (304 Hwy. 2 E., 406/226-4464, 6:30 a.m.–9 p.m. daily June–Sept., dinner $8–19), at the junction of Highways 49 and 2, puts out some tasty dinners. Special care is lavished on desserts.
Next door to Brownie’s Grocery and the hostel is the Whistle Stop Restaurant (1024 Hwy. 49, 406/226-9292, breakfast, $5–10) with a bakery and great breakfasts (huckleberry French toast).
Don’t forget the Great Northern Steak and Rib House (406/892-2525, 6:30–10 a.m., 11 a.m.–3 p.m., and 5–9:30 p.m. daily, late May–Sept., dinner $12–22), the Western-themed Glacier Park Lodge [1] dining room with steak and barbecue specialties. Breakfast is a buffet.
