For a fairly level trail that goes on for miles, the Highline Trail can’t be beat. It’s the main route to Granite Park Chalet [1] (7.6 miles), and it can be frustratingly crowded, but the above-timberline views, bear-grass meadows, and chattering marmots are absorbing enough to eclipse the other hikers. (Do note that there are some high ledges to traverse here; people hiking with young children and those with a fear of heights might want to give this trail a pass.)
