Garnet Ghost Town (406/329-3914) is an abandoned mining town where about 30 buildings have been preserved. In the winter it’s a great place for cross-country skiing. To reach Garnet, take Highway 200 about 24 miles east of Missoula [1] and turn south at Greenough Hill. The rough Garnet access road is 11 miles from the turnoff.
