Hub of the Flathead Reservation’s [1] Kootenai population, Elmo is the site of the Standing Arrow Powwow during the third weekend of July. Although not as large as the powwow held in Arlee, it’s a good opportunity to see dancing, drumming, and stick games.
The Kootenai Culture Committee (406/849-5541), the powwow’s sponsor, has its headquarters in Elmo.
