Below Mohave Point, you can see three of the canyon’s 160-plus rapids: From left to right are Hermit, Granite [1], and Salt Creek Rapids.
Most rapids on the Colorado River through Grand Canyon were formed when boulders washed down tributary canyons after flash floods.
A long, narrow formation, the Alligator, stretches from the point into the canyon below. The cliffs to the east are known as the Hopi Wall.
