If you can’t wait for Acadia [1] to dig into your lobster, the Trenton Bridge Lobster Pound (1237 Bar Harbor Rd./Rte 3., Trenton, 207/667-2977, www.trentonbridgelobsterpound.com [2], Mon.–Sat., late May–mid-Oct., $8–25) has been serving steamed crustaceans to parkgoers for more than 40 years. It has a great view of Mount Desert Island [3] over the bridge.
The surest sign that Ellsworth [4] is polishing its image is Cleonice Mediterranean Bistro (112 Main St., Ellsworth, 207/664-7554, www.cleonice.com [5], , lunch from 11:30 a.m., dinner from 5 p.m. daily, $19–25), an old diner with high-backed wooden booths and a gleaming wooden bar that’s been renovated into an upscale tapas bar and restaurant. Entrées draw from North African, Italian, and Iberian influences.
