New Hampshire [1] is no stranger to bikers, and neither will you be after a visit to Broken Spoke Saloon (1072 Waston Rd., Laconia, 603/366-5511, www.brokenspokesaloon.com [2], 11 a.m.–1 a.m. Wed.–Sat., 11 a.m.–10 p.m. Sun. Jun.–Oct.). Sure it’s more of a joint than a relaxing bar, but there’s no arguing the flavor’s anything but genuine.
Rather hit someplace a little more lighthearted? There’s always Forever Young (10 Downtown Mall, Laconia, 603/524-9317, 11 a.m.–2: p.m. Fri.–Sat. May–March), a dance club that plays primarily DJ-spun pop and caters to single twenty- and thirtysomethings with a cushy lounge.
Rather hear some live music? Make Paradise Beach Club (322 Lakeside Ave., Laconia, 603/366-2665, www.paradisebc.com [3], 8 p.m.–1 a.m. Thurs.–Sat. May–Oct.) your next stop. Every weekend the bar-restaurant hosts performances by local rock bands.
