There are only three rooms at Derryfield B&B (1081 Bridge St., Manchester, 603/627-2082, $70–95), but they’re an absolute bargain: simple but neatly kept for singles or couples, and the property has an outdoor pool and serves a big breakfast.
Close to downtown Concord [1] but with plenty of privacy, Olde Concorde Bed & Breakfast (231 N. Main St., Concord, 603/228-3356, $85–95) lets recently renovated, clean rooms and serves a full breakfast.
The national chain operated by Crowne Plaza (2 Somerset Pkwy, Nashua, 603/886-1200, $80–145) has standard through deluxe rooms (with coffeemakers and kitchenettes), plus perks like an indoor pool and sauna.
The decor can be a bit cookie-cutter in some areas, but the English Country style of the Highlander Inn (2 Highlander Way, Manchester, 603/625-6426, www.highlanderinn.com [2], $120–170) is certainly comfortable enough. Rooms come with lots of little perks (high-speed Internet access, coffeemakers, and some suites with whirlpool tubs), and the property has a fitness center, outdoor pool, hot tub, and video library.
The carefully restored 19th-century Centennial Inn (96 Pleasant St., Concord, 603/225-7102, $150–170) is like sleeping in a little museum—the common areas and rooms are filled with mint-condition Victorian antiques and fixtures. The most luxurious rooms are in the building’s twin turrets, some of which come with whirlpool tubs and private verandas. There is a game room and fireplace dining in the downstairs bistro.
